This matter is before me on the petition of Frank J. Ruiz for a writ of habeas corpus. Mr. Ruiz was tried and convicted by a jury in the county court of Racine County of first degree murder on October 31, 1974. Upon conviction, he was sentenced to a term of life imprisonment, which he is now serving. The petitioner filed post-conviction motions, and he appealed his conviction to the Wisconsin supreme court...
