Defendant assigns as error the trial court's denial of his motion for a change of venue from McDowell County to Caldwell County, the county in which the alleged crime occurred. Defendant's case was initially scheduled for trial in Caldwell County, along with the trials of his three co-defendants, Bobby Burns, Isaiah Hood and Edith Philyaw.
