This is a suit to foreclose a mechanic's lien placed upon defendant's property by plaintiff, a contractor who performed extensive alterations and repairs upon the property. Plaintiff alleged that he was entitled to payment of a balance due for work performed under a contract between the parties and also for work performed for "extras" in addition to the work required by that contract.
