Prior to the trial of this case, the defendant sought to obtain the identity of an informer pursuant to a Brady motion (Brady v. Maryland, 373 U.S. 83 (83 S.C. 1194, 10 LE2d 215) (1963)). The state asserted an absolute privilege which the trial court upheld without hearing evidence.
