At the core of this personal injury litigation is the physical property of hot liquid asphalt, or "resin," to congeal when cooled to a temperature of 190 ° F. The asphalt was transported in a tanker truck of defendant Redwing Carriers from Jacksonville, Florida to the Johns-Manville plant in Savannah, and plaintiff Kenneth Knight, an employee at the plant, was sprayed with hot asphalt when one of Redwing's hoses burst during the unloading operation...
