On June 15, 1973 the claimant filed a timely notice of claim against the State alleging that on March 27, 1973 he was assaulted by a State trooper without just cause or provocation, and that he was falsely arrested and falsely imprisoned. Damages in the amount of $100,000 were sought in the notice of claim.
