The defendant, Charles Brabson, was charged with taking a billfold and currency from Thomas Kiefer. A jury in the Circuit Court of Peoria County found the defendant guilty of the crime of theft from the person in violation of Ill.Rev.Stat.1975, ch. 38, par. 16-1(a)(1), and he was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than three nor more than nine years.
