These cases arose out of an automobile accident which occurred in Newton County on June 3, 1966. Pleading their cause under the res ipsa loquitur doctrine, plaintiffs Exie Belle and Dave Fields sought to recover damages from defendant Berry 1) for personal injuries sustained by plaintiff Exie Belle, and 2) for loss of consortium sustained by plaintiff Dave Fields.
