FOTH, J.:

Sylvester Collazo was convicted by a jury of the sale of heroin in violation of K.S.A. 1976 Supp. 65-4127a. He appeals, primarily alleging that the trial court erred by admitting hearsay testimony in violation of his constitutional right to confront the witnesses against him. We reverse and remand for a new trial.

The state's case rested almost entirely on the testimony of John Washington, an undercover narcotics agent for the Kansas Bureau of Investigation...
