Earl Dupar was charged in the same information with the separate offenses of attempted aggravated rape (La. R.S. 14:27; La. R.S. 14:42) and attempted second degree murder (La. R.S. 14:27; La. R.S. 14:30.1). Defendant was tried for both offenses by the same jury and was found guilty as charged for each offense. After the convictions, but prior to sentencing, the district attorney filed an information accusing defendant of a previous felony conviction...
