Plaintiff Lillian Warvel received a whole blood transfusion August 18, 1971, in the course of childbirth at defendant Providence Hospital. On December 24, 1971, she was diagnosed as having serum hepatitis. A complaint was filed against Providence Hospital May 15, 1973, in Oakland County Circuit Court seeking damages for breach of express and implied warranties that the blood was of merchantable quality and reasonably fit for transfusion and, additionally...
