Wilburn G. Monk was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating beverages (a misdemeanor) in violation of La.R.S. 14:98. Defendant, represented by counsel, entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to pay a fine of $200.00 and costs or to serve sixty (60) days in the parish jail.
