The plaintiff, Emanuel S. Lozoff, an attorney, filed an action in the circuit court of Kane County alleging that he "rendered legal services to the defendants, for which the defendants agreed to pay" him $65,000 and that he had not been paid. Lozoff was licensed to practice law in Wisconsin but not in Illinois at the times involved. A jury returned a verdict in the plaintiff's favor...
