Defendant, Steven Teller, was charged by indictment with the offenses of aggravated battery and robbery in violation of sections 12-4 and 18-1 of the Criminal Code of 1961 (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1973, ch. 38, pars. 12-4, 18-1). An accomplice, Gwen Cross, not directly involved in this appeal, was similarly charged, pled guilty to a charge of robbery, and was sentenced to a 5-year...
