Pursuant to the authority granted by La. R.S. 48:441, et seq., the Department of Highways instituted proceedings on November 27, 1963, to expropriate six parcels of land owned by L. B. Ponder, Jr., totalling 28.295 acres for use on the I-55 and Louisiana Highway 40 interchange near Independence in Tangipahoa Parish. The land expropriated came from an original 128-acre tract from which smaller parcels that totaled approximately 25 acres had previously...
