In the underlying action, plaintiff-respondent (Pierre Guibor) seeks affirmative injunctive relief to require defendants-appellants (The Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, Inc. and the Executive Committee of its Board of Surgeon Directors) to reappoint him as an assistant attending surgeon on the medical staff of said hospital (referred to as "MEETH").
