Ronnie Cooper, defendant, was charged by indictment with armed robbery, attempt murder, and multiple counts of aggravated battery. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 38, pars. 8-4, 9-1, 12-4, 12-4(b)(1), 18-2.) Pursuant to his pretrial motion, defendant was discharged from custody on these offenses on the ground he was not brought to trial within 120 days from the date of his arrest and incarceration...
