On the morning of October 28, 1974, the bodies of Clyde Johnson and his wife Lucy were found in a field approximately eight miles from Huntsville, Alabama. Clyde Johnson's death was caused by a gunshot wound to the head, for which appellant was indicted for first degree murder on November 14, 1975.
