Stephen Franklin was shot on the evening of 19 December 1974. The aftermath was a charge against him of attempting to rob Jarrett D. Christian, a taxicab driver, with a dangerous and deadly weapon, a trial in the Criminal Court of Baltimore at which he was convicted by the court of the offense, and a sentence of twenty years.
