On October 16, 1975, three employees of Mardo Homes, Inc. (employer) were instructed to clean the leaves from rainspouts in one of its townhouse rental developments. The employer provided its employees with an aluminum extension ladder consisting of two fifteen foot sections, without a pulley leader, for use in the work.
