Defendant Dailey Oatis, Jr. was charged in the Circuit Court of Vermilion County with the misdemeanor offense of driving a motor vehicle while his driver's license was revoked (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1973, ch. 95 1/2, par. 6-303). He waived counsel and appeared pro se at a bench trial at which he was found guilty. He was sentenced to two years probation with
