The plaintiffs, LaSalle National Bank, the title holder of record under a land trust, and Donald J. Hamman, the sole beneficiary of that land trust, petitioned for a special use permit to allow Hamman to mine sand and gravel from a 198.3-acre portion of the plaintiffs' 247-acre farm in Kendall County, Illinois.
