Raymond Louis Matlock was convicted by a jury in the Eastern District of Arkansas on four counts of mail fraud, 18 U.S.C. § 1341, namely making false statements in applications for credit cards and failing to pay for purchases made with the cards. On appeal he urges that he was denied a speedy trial; that the search of his briefcase was illegal and the evidence resulting therefrom...
