Plaintiff, Loleta Lord Barber, filed suit against defendants, Dr. Louis A. Cayer and St. Francis Cabrini Hospital, Inc., to recover damages for a burn she received while undergoing surgery on her hip. A jury voted 11-1 to award Ms. Barber $25,000 and she was given judgment for this amount against the hospital and the co-administrators of the estate of Dr. Cayer, Henry C. Taylor and Patricia J.
