OPINION

DORIS, Justice.

This petition for the adoption of a minor child without consent of the natural father, hereinafter referred to as the respondent, was brought by the natural mother of the child and her husband, hereinafter referred to as the petitioners. After a hearing by a Family Court justice the petition was denied and from that denial the petitioners now prosecute an appeal to this court.
