STATE EX REL. JONES v. COLE

No. 60192.

350 So.2d 1164 (1977)

STATE of Louisiana ex rel. Autry Lee JONES v. The Hon. Judge Luther F. COLE, 19th Judicial District Court.

Supreme Court of Louisiana.

September 28, 1977.

Writ denied. Plaintiff's request for a trial date is premature in view of the fact that he has not complied with the pretrial procedure contained in Rule VII of the Rules of the 19th Judicial District Court.

DIXON, J., is of the opinion the writ should be granted and a trial date ordered fixed. A rule which requires a pre-trial conference before a case can be fixed for trial may be contrary to the intent and purpose of C.C.P. 1551 & 1571.
