Appellant Paul Methven was found guilty on eight counts of various crimes relating to a plan to extort six and a half million dollars from major oil companies, 18 U.S.C. §§ 371, 1951, 1952(A)(2), 1952(A)(3); 26 U.S.C. §§ 5861(d), 5871. He claims that the indictment against him should have been dismissed due to the government's failure to try him within the ninety-day mandatory time limit provided by the District Court's Rule 50(b) Plan...
