OPINION

RABINOWITZ, Justice.

This appeal presents questions concerning the appropriate method of allocating proceeds of a wrongful death case settlement between competing surviving statutory beneficiaries.

William C. Horsford died in a crash of an F27 aircraft at Iliamna Lake on December 2, 1968, leaving a widow, Dorothy (who was appointed administratrix of the estate), and two teenage children by a prior marriage, William, Jr. and Mary Horsford...
