OPINION

PHILLIPS, Judge.

This is an appeal from a conviction for the offense of murder with malice under our former penal code upon a plea of not guilty. The jury assessed punishment at life imprisonment.

Co-defendant Douglas Arthur Bates testified on rebuttal to the events surrounding the killing as follows: In November 1970 appellant asked Bates to help him with the murder of Horace Knox for $500.00...
