Each of the two defendants appeals from convictions of murder in the first degree, assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to commit murder, and attempted armed robbery. G.L.c. 278, §§ 33A-33G. There is a total of thirteen assignments of error, including denial of the defendant Silva's motion for appointment of medical experts "regarding his possible defense of insanity."
