This appeal arises out of a civil action in the Circuit Court of Calhoun County. Appellee, Long-Lewis Hardware Company, recovered damages on the basis of a statement made by an employee of First City National Bank of Oxford, Alabama to a representative of Long-Lewis concerning a check drawn on the appellant bank by a third person.
