These cases are consolidated for disposition by us. Bates petitions us to issue a writ of mandamus to Slaughter, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Duval County, directing Slaughter to transfer a criminal case pending against Bates in Duval County to the Circuit Court of Hillsborough County. In addition, Bates suggests that we issue a writ of prohibition directed to Judge Shepard, a Circuit Judge of Duval County, prohibiting the Judge from proceeding further...
