Defendant, John Ybarra, was indicted for murder and involuntary manslaughter, and tried at a bench trial. Defendant was found not guilty of murder, guilty of involuntary manslaughter, and sentenced by the circuit court of Cook County to 1 to 3 years. Defendant appeals, arguing that his statements should have been suppressed because the State failed to prove he was lawfully arrested...
