GILBERT, C.J., delivered the opinion of the Court.

The English Parliament, enacted, during the reign of King Charles II,1 legislation entitled, "An Act for Prevention of Frauds and Perjuries." That law, quickly became known by the stylistic name, "The Statute of Frauds."2 In this, the tricentennial year of the Statute, an appellate court is called upon, for what appears to be the first time in the legal history...
