Petitioners Rush and Dougherty were sentenced in 1973 in the District Court for the Eastern District of Illinois for various federal crimes arising from their attempted escape from the Marion, Illinois, Penitentiary in 1971. A direct appeal ensued and, in an unpublished order, we affirmed in part and reversed in part. 500 F.2d 1405 (7th Cir. 1974) (Table).
