Appellant Ronald L. Coy brought suit against Thomas Hardin, a Shepherdsville policeman, and the surety on his official bond, Buckeye Union Insurance Company, seeking damages for an alleged assault and battery committed upon appellant in the course of his arrest by Officer Hardin.
