July 20, 1974, defendant Rasberry Williams fatally shot Lester "Lamp Light" Givhan in front of George's Pool Hall in Waterloo, Iowa. This daytime incident resulted from a quarrel over a claimed indebtedness and was witnessed by several persons, some of whom attempted to dissuade defendant.
