In 1970, defendant was convicted, upon a plea of guilty, for the offense of murder and was sentenced to 35 to 60 years' imprisonment. On June 24, 1974, defendant filed a petition for relief pursuant to section 72 of the Civil Practice Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1973, ch. 110, par. 72) in which he alleged denial of his constitutional rights resulting from prosecutorial misconduct....
