Defendant was convicted of one count of first-degree murder, and one count of endangering safety by conduct regardless of human life. The judgment of conviction and sentence was affirmed by this court, upon defendant's appeal, in State v. Bergenthal (1970), 47 Wis.2d 668, 178 N.W.2d 16.
