Three plaintiffs were injured in a single-car accident in March 1970 on Interstate Highway 74 between Danville and Champaign, Illinois. Plaintiffs brought an action against General Motors Corporation, the manufacturer of the car, and Barkman Chevrolet Sales Co., Inc., the selling dealer, upon the theory of products liability.
