Petitioner seeks by habeas corpus in this Court to prevent his imminent retrial for serious criminal offenses in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. His claim is that a retrial is prohibited by the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution which provides that no person shall be "twice in jeopardy of life or limb" for the same offense.
