The defendant was charged with robbery in the first degree in violation of § 53a-134 (a) (2) of the General Statutes. A jury found him guilty and the court, Tierney, J., rendered judgment sentencing him to not less than eight nor more than sixteen years in the state correctional institution at Somers.
