This is a direct appeal by James Clanton from a conviction of the crime of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer in violation of K.S.A. 21-3411. The charges grew out of an altercation involving the defendant and two Dodge City police officers which occurred during the course of the defendant's arrest by the officers for violation of a city ordinance.
