These are twenty-three separate actions brought in the Superior Court to recover the unpaid balances, with interest, due on forty-one various promissory notes made either by the firm of Roberts & Co. (Roberts) or by Investment Funds Inc. (IFI) during the period from October 2, 1961, through August 11, 1970.
