SMITH, Justice:

John Reed Saucier was convicted in the Circuit Court of the First Judicial District of Harrison County of the murder of Earl W. Phillips, Sr., a Harrison County patrol officer. For his offense he was sentenced to life imprisonment in the penitentiary. He appeals.
