Ona Stogsdill sued Dr. Hiatt (formerly her physician), the Manor Convalescent Home (in which she had been a patient), and Irene Genetske (a co-owner and supervisor of the Home), for damages suffered by her when her left leg was amputated as a proximate result of allegedly deficient medical and convalescent care.
