The defendant was tried on an indictment charging murder in the first degree and, having been convicted of murder in the second degree, was sentenced to a term of life imprisonment to be served after a sentence then being served. The case was taken under G.L.c. 278, §§ 33A-33H. The defendant has argued three assignments of error.
