This is a suit for damages, and alternatively for a reduction in the purchase price of a residence. The plaintiff, Joseph L. Mayeux, alleges that he purchased a residence in Thibodaux, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, from the defendant, Harold Hughes, on June 6, 1975, and that soon thereafter the roof of the dwelling seriously leaked due to its deteriorated condition.
