Glenn Elliott Wood, petitioner herein, was charged with first-degree murder in March 1974. An amended information was later filed, charging him with manslaughter while armed with a firearm. On May 17, 1974, petitioner pleaded guilty to the amended information and was sentenced by the court to the maximum term.
