MASON, J., delivered the opinion of the Court.

The appellant, Frank Benjamin Burton, was convicted by a jury in the Criminal Court of Baltimore of murder in the first degree (two counts), assault with intent to murder, robbery with a deadly weapon, and violation of the handgun statute (three counts). He was sentenced to two concurrent life terms plus consecutive terms totaling thirty-five years.
